U.S. Visa Application - Required Documents & Process
Confirmation Page of DS-160 Application Form :
A printout of your DS-160 confirmation page (the page with the barcode) must be shown when you arrive at the Embassy.
Photograph :
One 5 x 5 cm (2” by 2”) color photograph, taken within the last six months.
This photograph must meet the U.S. Department of State’s photo requirements. While uploading the photo in DS-160 is mandatory, we recommend bringing a physical copy to your visa interview for review if requested.
Appointment Confirmation Page :
You can obtain this through the ‘Print Instructions’ section of your Visa Appointment Service account at [visa appointment website].
Passport/Travel Document :
Your passport must have multiple pages available for visa stamping.
Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay in the U.S. (this requirement does not apply to U.K. passports).
If your passport is damaged, we recommend obtaining a new one before applying to avoid processing delays.
Proof of Status in the U.K. (if applicable) :
Provide proof of your legal status in the U.K. if you are not a U.K. or EU passport holder.
Evidence of Previously Issued U.S. Visas :
If you no longer possess the passport containing previous U.S. visas, inform the consular officer during the interview or submit a statement explaining the situation.
Medical Condition Letter (if applicable) :
If you have a medical condition that may affect your visa eligibility, bring a letter from your physician detailing your health condition.
Criminal History (if applicable) :
If you have ever been arrested, convicted, or cautioned, you are required to declare it and bring the necessary documents to your visa interview.
Overstay or Deportation History (if applicable) :
If you have overstayed, been denied entry, or deported from the U.S., bring relevant documents to the interview.
Proof of Sufficient Funds : Bring documentation showing that you have enough funds to cover all expenses during your stay in the U.S.
Evidence of Residence Abroad
You must provide evidence that you intend to return to your home country after your stay in the U.S.
